Q & A

Q: How do I get to the Ohio State University Multicultural Center at the Ohio Union?
A:
Getting to the Union is easy! Just take a look at Directions to the Union and you’ll arrive to your destination!

Q: Can I smoke in Columbus?
A:
Smoking – Columbus has a smoking ban.  This means there is no smoking in restaurants, bars and clubs.

Q: Where can I park for the conference?
A:
There are several parking garages located on the campus of OSU. The closest garage is located (and attached to) next to the OSU Student Union.  Click Event Parking for maps and directions to parking garages. Additionally, there is parking located across the street at the Gateway Film Center garage.

Q: Should I make business cards?
A: There will be over 200 people registered for the symposium from all over the country.  We suggest making contact cards for yourself ahead of time – this includes your name, phone number and email address.  It’s always easier to give somebody a card with your contact information then searching for a pen!

Q: What if I don’t want to ask a question during a health or legal panel?
A: Sometimes people get shy in a roomful of people. Don’t worry about it! If you have a question that you’d like to submit ahead of time to be asked by a TransOhio board member during the health or legal panel, please email us with your question – TransOhio@gmail.com.  We’ll also have index cards that you can write your question down on and submit it to a panel, or one of the presenters.

Q: What’s to do in Columbus Late-Night?
A: Columbus has several bars and gathering spots that are GLBTQIA friendly. There are way too many to list, so best to check http://shortnorth.com/AtoZDirectory.html and scroll down to Nightclubs and Bars.  If you’re looking for something specific, let us know and we can get details for you.

Q: Where are some local Restaurants?
A: There are MANY restaurants in the Short North area ranging from inexpensive to not-so-inexpensive. Best thing to do would be to check out http://shortnorth.com/DiningList.html and take a look at what’s where.  Some restaurants have their menu posted.
